TOPIC: RSForm Pro and gmail or hotmail

RSForm Pro and gmail or hotmail 1 week 4 days ago #43455

Has something changed with mail providers like gmail or hotmail that no longer work with RSforms?
I had sites with @gmail.com and @hotmail.com that worked before and stopped sending emails.

Hello,

Please be more specific in your question, what is no longer working, can you provide screenshots of your current configuration?

We also provide an article that describes the steps to take in order to debug the emailing functionality of your forms:
www.rsjoomla.com/support/documentation/r...-not-being-sent.html

RSForm!Pro also provides an email log feature that can be enabled from the general component configuration, this can help in debugging the emailing functionality:

Form submissions no longer being email to admin email but it's more of a host and server side because test emails from joomla were not working also. This is what they explained with our host:
"Thank you for reaching out. I am seeing that in both cases your websites are setting the "From" address to an "@hotmail.com" or "@gmail.com" address, but unfortunately your Rochen server environments are not authorized to send mail on behalf of these external email providers. If they were, then you would be able to send mail from any "@hotmail.com" or "@gmail.com" address even if you did not own the associated account. As such, the way to resolve this issue is to configure your application to authenticate against these actual email accounts at Hotmail/Gmail over SMTP and send the messages through those actual accounts. Alternatively, you can set a "From" address under your site's domain name instead."

I'll just do emails with sites domain name instead as suggested.

Hello,

Yes, this should be resolved if you use the same email and name as in your Global Configuration Settings as the "From" email and name for both the user and admin emails. If you want to reply directly to the user from your email client you can just set the field placeholder that returns the submitting users email in the "Reply to" field.
